Title of Job : Team Leader

Purpose: To perform the duties of a team leader by helping campers in your unit have fun, obey the rules of the camp, and stay safe.

Responsible to: The Camp Director

Principal Duties:

1. Know your campers and where they are at all times. Take roll each morning and afternoon.
2. Help campers learn to respect other's rights and to understand the differences and similarities of other campers. Practice the Golden Rule.
3. Guide the camper's activities - help with games - help with arts and crafts - help with drama - help with mural, devotionals and music.
4. Supervise your camper's sanitation - make them wash their hands after using the restrooms. Observe this rule yourself.
5. Assume the responsibility for the health and safety of your campers.
• Report accident to camp director promptly.
• Keep camp director informed of any health problems.
• Report morale or discipline problems to the camp director.
6. Supervise and maintain the supplies and equipment in your care, keep the water jugs full and take responsibility for picking up and returning the camper's cups to the camp director each day. Arrive at camp by 9:00 am to help get camp set up, unless you ride the bus.
7. Know the camp schedule each day, and help keep your team on time each day.
8. Help your team learn and obey the Rules of the Camp.
9. Maintain and supervise the cleanliness of your team's site.
10. Maintain the moral or your team, and set a good example for them.

Qualifications:

A. Ages : Team Leaders - must have completed 8th grade
                Jr. Team Leaders - must have completed 6th grade and be at least two
                years older than the team assigned to

B. Training and Experience:

1. Take the two day team leader training
2. Be able to guide the campers
3. Be able to help campers learn
4. Know the Rules of the Camp and obey them
5. Know some basic First Aid
6. Be able to maintain the records of your team & report to camp director
7. Have leadership ability
8. Be willing to learn and develop new skills to share with your team
9. Be able to set a good example for your team
10. Must enjoy children and working with them.
